In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the NCCE, Professor Paulinus Chijioke Okwelle, MNAE, emphasized the crucial role of the Colleges of Education sub-sector in advancing national education goals. “This meeting has become imperative, given the critical role of the NCCE and Colleges of Education in achieving the objectives of the performance bond signed by the Honourable Minister of Education with the Presidency,” he said. Professor Okwelle further assured that the Commission would strengthen its monitoring mechanisms to ensure no institution falls behind. “I am confident that, following this meeting, no College of Education will be found wanting in its quarterly reporting on the implementation of these deliverables,” Okwelle affirmed. He concluded by urging all stakeholders to view their roles not just as administrative responsibilities but as essential contributions to national development.
