| Strategies for Eliminating Wastages in Vocational and Technical Education (Tve) for Sustainable Technological Development in Nigeria |
The importance of Vocational and Technical Education (TVE) in national development cannot be over-emphasized. This is because TVE is widely recognized as the aspect of education concerned with the production of skilled technical manpower needed for a nation's technological development. Wastage or under-utilization of any resources, either human or material in TVE is viewed as one of the hindrances to technological development in Nigeria. The purpose of the paper therefore is to highlight the elements and sources of wastage in vocational and technical Education. At the end, strategies for eliminating wastage in vocational and technical education for sustainable technological development in Nigeria were suggested. | Integrating Cooperative Education into Technology Education Curriculum for Sustainable Youth Empowerment in Nigeria |
Technology Education is widely recognized as that form of education that empowers youths to be self-reliant thus, reducing unemployment and poverty. Unfortunately, observations show that technology education in Nigeria is marred with many problems that hamper the realization of these objectives. On the basis of these lapses, this paper is an attempt to make a case for the revitalization of technology education through the integration of Cooperative Education into the Technology Education programme. Finally, the paper outlined the integration process of the suggested new curriculum that will empower youths thus, reducing unemployment and fostering national development. |

| THE ROLES OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) IN NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AS PERCEIVED BY INTERNET SERVICES PROVIDERS (ISPs) |
The study aimed at identifying the roles and inherent problems of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)/lnformation Technology (IT) in national development as perceived by Internet Services Providers (ISPs) in Rivers State. A four-poilu Likerttype questionnaire, titled "-Role of Information Technology in National Development Questionnaire" (TNDQ) was used to collect data in order to address the three research • questions. The result showed that all the ICT roles listed were accepted as important in national development, with varying degrees of importance as shown by the ratings: Also, all the problems listed were rated important as hindrances to IT contribution to national development in Nigeria. Based on the findings, implications were drawn and it was recommended among other things that all stakeholders should be committed in promoting ICT access and usage in the new economy. |

Highlighting the importance of vocational education in socioeconomic development, it emphasizes that Home Economics offers essential skills relevant to various career paths. The findings reveal significant awareness among male students regarding job opportunities in food and nutrition sectors, yet lack of awareness in other domains like home management and child development. Recommendations are provided to enhance awareness and understanding of Home Economics, suggesting initiatives such as media campaigns and guidance services. |
